The Ulster bank ad where the family are asked to pay for the use of a slide is crazy.

It reminds me of the recent McDolands at where somebody was being changed for reading a magazine at the hair-dressers.

What purpose have these type of ads?

They are dull & boring ads that try and promote a good deal by comparing it to imaginary situations.

Simply put.... its ludicrous to pay for going down a slide.. so its also ludicrous to pay bank charges.. pretty simple and effective advertising and not as annoying as the TSB ones!!!

Only thing about that ad is your one with her eyes wide open... they look huge... nice colour blue sure but she looks shocked to be on TV or something :D

Nobody pays for using a slide. Whereas Ulster bank used change transaction fees themselves.

The whole ad is pointless and yer one is far too serious.

Do they still charge user transaction fees? I thought they reduced or removed them a while back...

I have been with Ulsterbank myself since i was a child. Im married now so have current account with them..I can tell you i have never in my life ever paid any form of bank fee.. other than say converting currency or charge for a bank draft etc..

No transaction, NO ATM :D no standing order/direct debit fees etc.
I think its always been free as long as you had say €500 in there. I always have a lot more so that may be why.
