    A firend send me a dvd with a couple of applications on it. They are .iso files. How can I open these?

    you have to mount them on a virtual drive

    These are images of CDs meant for burning, so you can use a CD burning program like Nero (free trial download), or most CD burning software can burn the ISO for you.

    You can also create a virtual drive using some 3rd party apps, like Daemon Tools (Site Download), which will trn your, say G: drive into what looks like a CD drive but will have whatever contents are in your .ISO file.

    use daemon tools its a virtual drive program. you can just mount the iso onto it
