    That'll be the problem so

    going to start swimming when the weather gets better. As it is i'm retty sedentry!!
    I'm going to buy my own island when I win the lotto (i.e. quite procrastinating).

    Clicked the link - saw Oprah :mad: Closed the link quickly. Are you kidding me?!? You are going to buy dieting supplements from a page displaying the queen of 'yo-yo never-quite-getting-there' dieting herself? I hope my computer didn't store those images or I could be arrested by the sanity police next time my PC gets defragged.

    The simple truth is, supplements are the last 2% that people add to an already good diet and exercise programme to cap things off. If you're overeating and sedentary, then even the most aggressive and dangerous fat-burners will not do you much good on their own.

    Read this and this. Get active & do not give into marketing hype. The supplement industry is a bit of a mine-field of crappy products and sheisters, and unfortunately that goes especially for products aimed at helping middle-aged women trim down.

    It all about the diet. Hmmm, I think I'll make that my new sig - but I digress...

    I think we should just post random smilies and let our sigs do the talking... ;)

    OP, t-ha is right. Make sure your diet is spot on and then worry about supplements and the like. Weight loss = good diet + exercise (weights and cardio)

    I think it's worth pointing out though, that my signature is bigger than your signature. It's because I'm a man. :cool:

    Well good because that really hurt me. See attached image and multiply by 10 for how sad I am. :(

    ... really.. no honestly, how thin an internet skin do you think I have?

    P.S. My official come-back is;

    No I'm not, you are! :cool:

    I like the cut of your jib wailer! :D

    I think swimming is better personally. I take it you're going to swim outdoors etc. (won't be joining a gym?). If so then I guess you could cycle to the beach (two birds, one stone - love it!). If you will have access to a gym then rowing machines, cross-trainers, bikes, stair-climbers (virtually everything bar treadmills) are all pretty impact free. I find that even the treadmills are low impact if you notch up a decent incline.

    Be sure to read the diet info too - it really is that important. It can take a bit of commitment to bang out 500kcal on a treadmill, but it takes about 10 seconds infront of a biscuit tin to pack those 500kcal back in again :o (well me anyway).

    g'em, t-ha - jeez, get a room... :D

    wailers - set goals for yourself and stick to them.... A goal of "I want to lose 3 stone" is too loose. You'll get bored and go back to your old ways in 3 or 4 weeks. Set manageable goals, like "I'm going to be 15-something by the end of March" (which is definitely doable..).

    Good luck! Keep posting your progress here. There will be no shortage of people to spur you on and tell you that you're doing a good job.
