Why not? The Cure played end of saturday in 2004. I dont think there will be much more added in terms of big names.

Do you know anything of The Who? They're big. Much bigger than Kings of Leon! They'll be a great act!

I was thinking the very same thing actually. I thought The Who may be in the second biggest stage or something as headliners. I think it needs another big act really as not that interested in RHCP personally but going either way ;)

looks like we have our retard of the week. The Who are one of the biggest bands in the world, there is no way they wont have them headlining, unless the organisers have gone completely off their trolley.

Funniest thing I've heard all week. A stereotypical oxegen goer.

I can see where the OP is coming from in saying that the Who won't appeal to a good section of the festival goers. I'd say that there's going to be several "big" names announced that will playing second or third headline on one of the nights. but I do think that The Who should be headlining. To me, they're bigger than any other band on the bill!

I think the Saturday line-up is pretty awful! They really need to add a few more bands in there. Sunday is OK, though most of the big names will be on at the same time! I for sure amnt excited about 'The Who' and I saw the Strokes last week at the point and they were just blah! They really need someone to fill the gap!

jesus relax guys, does this happen every year with oxegen?

they always announce more acts from the time they annouce the first acts to the weekend before the event.

Nah that's gonna be it. Now they just add more small acts.

If they wanted a big act they would need to book them ages in advance. So therefore they would already have them booked by now and would have announced them already to increase ticket sales.

    Sin é!

And the Cure aren't a big name at all.

there will be very little big bands announced as the oxegen organisers have their money now, why spend it when you dont have to? the whole thing is a big rip off! Day Of Darkness will be the Irish festival of the year!

ah yea, MCD are the enemy, Ticketmaster are scum ect ect. Im sure the RHCP and The Who charge quite a few euro to play and they could have got bands alot cheaper to headline and still sold it out. Of course money plays a big part, as it does with, oh i dont know, say Day Of Darkness (dont be fooled, its mostly about money there too) but so does pride. The organisers obviously want to put on a show they will be proud of.
