Whatever happened to the Under-21 runners up?

    A few years ago, the Irish Under 21s finished as runners up to the all Blacks in the under age world cup. They handily disposed of Australia on the way and were, by all accounts, an excellent team with some very promising players.

    So what happened? Why have they not started to come through? Heaslip is playing well for Leinster and has been introduced to the Irish squad without getting within a sniff of making the team for the 6N. But I think he'sthe only one.

    Whatever happened to Steenson, who was supposed to be a hot prospect or some of the others? Are they still playing? did they give it up? What's happened to our conveyor belt of talent?

    Well Leinster should bring him back as soon as possible.

    Richard Lane is playing great for Cork Con at the minute, hopefully he'll get a contract of some kind next season.
