Flash for Canon

I want to buy a Canon Speedlite 580EX flash for my camera. These are the two options that i know of within EU. Wondering anybody knows better/cheaper place to buy online?

Speendlite price there is €424 + between €28-50 in shipping depending on how you choose to pay.

I have not used them myself but if you search the "sticky" best price thread there is somebody recommeding them ... I am definitely considering using them for a forthcoming purchase of some new lenses and would welcome any feedback on this vendor.

The other option (which carries a risk of paying duty) is www.Bhphotovideo.com ... these guys are great!! Price here is only USD370 and their shipping is usually reasonable ... even with the duty the price is not bad (compared to Conns cameras for example) ...

If you ever get to New York (or like me you know a few Aer Lingus cabin crew) you could pick one up in their shop ... well worth a visit but be warned these guys are full on hacidic Jews so they close on holy days and festivals ... even thier web site closes on Saturdays ... but their prices are reasonable and they have a good attitude ...

If you do have someone going to New York them you could try www.abesofmaine.com ... great service and good prices ... crappy shipping costs ... ask for Charles ... he sold me my 20D ...:D

Hey Simon,
Thanks for the info. I am awere of service quality with bhphotovideo but this time I will avoid non-EU purchase. I bought a lens from bhphotovideo in last december,had a little accident with it...bhphotovideo didn't help me because their 14 days return policy and the warranty was US only so the lens repair cost me 190 euros with colchester camera repairs.Anyways I am still happy with the lens though. I will let you know if I buy from www.ac-foto.com

I got a 580 2 wks ago from technik direkt, very pleased with it.
