    Hey,

i want a industrial scaffold piercing and have been looking into it for a few months now, only thing is because i havent been in ireland very long i wasnt sure where was best to go to get this done so if anybody has any idea about where would be best i would really appreciate it.

i got a tattoo done in celestial ring three months ago and the place was really professional but just wondered if anywhere was better for piercings and in particular, a scaffold piercing??

    thanks!

See the sticky at the top of the forum, it has a list of recommendations for good piercers/tattooists all around the country. I'm sure you'll find somewhere there. If your around the Dublin area though, I'd reccommend Bodyshock, I've got three scaffolds, one vertical, two horizontal and got my horizontal ones done there. Never had a problem with anything done by them.

scaffolds can be a little tricky to heal at the best of times. when I got my second one it used flake a little bit aswell, but it was cos there was a little bit too much pressure on it and it was digging in to my ear.
Best thing you can do is do regular soaks and DO NOT SLEEP ON IT!!!
serioulsy don't, it will really delay they healing of it and they can get a bit sore.
Doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about though, it's quite new so its expected, if your still worried call into your piercer but I say just baby it for a while.

I've had mine done a week now and it's still a bit swollen. Is that normal for scaffolds, or should I go get it checked?

well considering you have a long bar going through two sites in your ear and its only a week old, I'd say it's pretty normal ;)
seriously, theres no need to freak out over small things. Scaffolds ARE hard to heal.they DO need a lot of care and looking after. Of course its going to be swollen, why would it not be, your ear has just had a piece of metal shoved through it.

hey just wondering how you guys make yourselves NOT sleep on your new ear piercings? i lost my right tragus on 2seperate ocassions due to me sleeping on it. i go to sleep on my left side but wake up on the right! argh its infuriating (so is typing in the dark but anyway :)) yeah any suggestions?

You can wedge a big pillow between you and your bed so its hard to roll over. Hand cuffs and a gimp suit work ok as well.

That's pretty specialist equipment that not everyone would have, are you offering a loan of yours?

heres how i learned not to sleep on my scaffold:
the first night i had it, i turned over in my sleep...
it was so ****in sore that my body learned not to do it again

if i wanted to sleep on a particular side but had a new piercing, I sleep with my head really low down on the pillow, but I tend to do that anyway. It doesn't create so much pressure on it. I'm pretty lucky in that I don't have any trouble sleeping on either side though and both my ears have a lot done.

Yeah like ive got 3 in my left ear and only my right lobe done. Wanna even em up, be more symmetrical as they say! Keep sleeping on my right ear thats why my tragus keeps rejecting (i think)...maybe il just wear a helmet on me head at night while its healing! :D

If you can get the stains out of them they're all yours:p

My scaffold took about 5 months to heal properly, and up till then it would flake and be crusty, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I had to change the bar in my scaffold to two small bars yesterday as I've started a new job (unts! \o/) and I've only just realised how bad a scar I have from when it was healing and started to grow into my ear (it was a pretty much vertical bar) before I got the bar bent. It basically looks like a mini axe wound, it's cool :D (if a little annoying)
