Somebody spilled a glass of water over my iPod. I let it dry out and let the battery waste. I then reset it with Menu + Select and it seemed to be okay, all the buttons worked etc. It played an album for me. The problem is, 2 songs in and the buttons stopped working/froze. It's still playing but I can't stop it, turn it off, anything.

So, since then I updated the firmware, everything seemed fine again, played a song, all the buttons worked etc, then it decided to freeze up again.

So, then I restored it to factory settings, and that doesn't seemed to have worked at all. The buttons don't work at all now.

    Any ideas?

    Yikes.

How long has it been since the accident? The moisture may not have fully evaporated from inside.

Other than that, have a look over at iLounge
www.ilounge.com
and see if anyone has had a similar experience.

    Hmmm...the disk is probably buggered.
It's physical damage, so ilounge if you want to try a DIY job. Otherwise, Apple or http://www.mactivate.ie/ipodservice.html

The iPod is a sealed unit, how would anything get in there.
