Are employers legally obliged to issue a salary slip every month to employees ?

Similarly, are employers' pension schemes obliged to issue monthly pay slips to pensioners ?

Query arises from two people who are in above situations where the companies in question have decided not to issue monthly pay slips where the amount paid is the same as in the previous month !! Apparently they will only issue a pay slip if there is a difference of one euro in the amount paid by reference to the previous month..

The Payment Of Wages Act, 1991 imposes restrictions on employers in terms of what and how they can make deductions from an employee’s wages. Other than deductions the employer is obliged to make by law – PAYE and PRSI – it is generally the case that no deduction can be made without the employee’s consent. An employee must receive an itemised pay slip.

I don't know whether it's been amended/modified - but to the best of my knowledge, they are still obliged to provide a pay slip - especially if it's requested!

    no, its against the law.
a pay slip is your receipt for work done and monies paid.

these people could legally argue that they have not been paid, and they have not been issued with receipts for the work done.
