    lo,
im after buying a d-link Router (model: DI-624+) and when i tried to log into the admin page of it with the username admin it just keeps bringing me into the log in screen! ive tried pressing the reset button with no luck, is there any way of changing or resetting the username other than the reset button? has anyone else had tis problem?
    cheers Richie

User is admin (All lower case)
    Password is blank
    ..right?

If that's not working - then you haven't reset it properly.
Read ~page 60 of the manual for more details. Essentially: you need to hold the paperclip in the Reset hole/button for 10seconds...

If you're running Firefox, try Internet Explorer...
The NetGear I'm using doesn't like to play with FireFox...

    I'll second that!

I can get in using netscape with the IE render engine, however it won't work with the Firefox engine. Bloody Dlink!

I've also had a wierd problem in the past with a DI-524 router:-
The speed I got from a wireless connection was fine but a WIRED pc was getting really bad speed, you'd expect the opposite! I tried everything to get it working but to no avail. Eventually swapped the NIC and speed was grand..... strangely after a few weeks speed went bad again (ie 5-50k transfer speeds!) on the wired connection, remembering what I did the previous time I swapped back to the old NIC (the one originally giving the problem) and surprisingly it worked. Really wierd! Must have been somehow related to the MAC address of the ethernet card.
