Their metal cutting snips is one of the best I have for only 5 euros, I've paid three times that for other ones and they were crap.

If anyone bought the compressor and doesn't need the airbrush kit I'm looking to buy one.Send me a PM if you want to sell one.

Picked up 2 of the compressors (1 for a mate) this morning in Aldi out in Tallaght. Apparently they have 300 for sale there - The just kept rolling in pallets! The tools aren't quite mickey mouse quality but I don't expect any of them to stand up to frequent use. But the compressor seems fine - Much more portable than the 200 Litre one I share with a friend. Incidentally, if anyone has something like a 2HP single phase foot mount motor to suit my bigger compressor, I'd be interested in hearing from you. At the moment it's running a petrol engine which is very unsuitable for my quiet residential area!

Shagman, the airbrush that came with mine is promised to one of my housemates but I'll speak with the friend I bought the other one for to see if he wants rid of it.

A mate bought the compressor today. Twice the capacity of one I bought in B+Q a couple of years back and half the price, seems to have the same accesories apart from the airbrush. A good deal I think.

I was there this morning at about 9:05am and there was chaos. A queue out the door almost to the gate and in the shop people running to get them before they were sold out.

I was a bit sceptical about Aldi before now but when I saw so many mechanics and tradesmen standing in the queue it made me think a bit more.

Picked up a compressor, chisel, nailgun and wheel nut remover - have not opened them yet but they seem very useful items at a very good price.:)

Yep I got 3. 1 for me ant 2 for others. Cant find the wheel nut removers any where, but did notice a lot of old people buying nail guns but no compressor not realising they need each other.

Maybe they were like me and allready had the compressor (this is it's second time around for Aldi) .Last time it came with a tool accessory kit but without airbrush and I don't think the nailgun/air chisel/impact driver came into stock last time either.

Personally I allways go to L.A. to buy my tools .........

thats Lidl+Aldi not Los Angelles!!!! :)

Has anyone had trouble fitting the sockets of their wheel nut remover gun to the actual gun. As far as I can see they simply don't fit.;)

Sorry - disregard the above - they do actually fit but need a firm shove on. Just me being my usual over careful self again.

Yeah - Took a bit of a smack the first time to get the socket mounted. Had occasion to use it today on the Landy. Didn't work out though - I'll blame it on the limited reservoir in the compressor and the 1/4" feed though. The muppet who owned the car before me had painted the wheels in-situ, no doubt after some idiot in Advance/Kwik-Fit or whatever drove the nuts on with an impact driver. BROKE the heavy duty wheel bar that comes with the Landy, bent a straight 1/2" bar and ended up using the biggest single stream of foul language I think I've ever used. Unfortunately the air wrench didn't cut the mustard and I ended up using a tin of WD40, a large can of gas for my blowtorch and 4 hours removing 3 flipping nuts. All to find out what parts I need to get to deal with the flow of brake fluid from the back left hub (Thank whoever's upstairs for the dry weather today!).

Just another reminder to watch the idiots who put the wheels back on your pride and joy after punctures/new tyres etc. It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last time either - Just pleased I was in my driveway and not sat with a puncture up in the hills.....

BTW Shagman - No joy on the airbrush I'm afraid. He's working on chopper at the moment and wants it in case he needs one for detail work. AFAIK, Hellfrauds sell a Badger kit for around €20 if this helps.

I know the feeling about those tyre places - they overtighten those nuts to absurd torque. I was trying to get the wheels off my car transporter to check the brakes and I had to being the trailer back to them - and insisted on tightening them myself manually when they had loosened them.

Can you imagine if I was trying to loosen them on the side of the M4.

That'll do, I work in Blanch so I'll drop in some lunchtime.BTW Is that an "orange county choppers" chopper or a raleigh chopper either way preety damn cool IMO!!

    Hey Shagman,

Checked the price in Hellfrauds - €33 for the kit but it's decent quality and should have enough for what you want to do.

He's been chopping an old Yamaha XV 1000cc twin for the best part of 18 months following a wiring loom meltdown and the subsequent strip. Doesn't look anything like the original at this stage. Harley Davidson chopped rear fender, GSXR wheels, custom tank, Intruder front end and custom rear swinger. We'd better stop now before the lads throw us out! :D

The people I saw buying them seemed too old for to be a compressor user.
