Quicktime Causing Problems?

    Every time I open a file such as the latest podcast it opens in Quicktime, (while online) This is a real pain as I have to source the link then, Adblock on Firefox usually provides the link and open the file in Windows Media Player, WMP is much better because it allows me to save the files providing the anti-saving measure hasn't been used. I have opened the Quicktime settings and have deselected all files types except Video - Quicktime Movie, Which you can't unselect. All files used to open in Quicktime until I downloaded the thing at Christmas, to open a website which had nice background music that I wanted to capture using Audacity. Anyone had this probelm before? It is the same problem on Firefox and IE6.

    [EDIT] I have Windows Media Player configured to be the default player for all files types listed. [EDIT]

    Thanks in Advance :)

    in FF Tools->options->downloads.

    Click on view and edit actions and check that the file type you want to open in WMP is set to open in WMP and not quicktime.
