well if money is no problem....you could drop a packet and get final cut studio which'll take care of audio and video for you....together with DVD creation should she want to do that in the future. All the tools in the studio package are top-notch professional grade.....hence the e1299 price tag.
    you've got:
    -Final Cut Pro (Video)
    -Soundtrack Pro (audio)
-Motion (text & Graphic animation for video)
    -DVD Studio Pro (DVD creation{)

For photo...the daddy has to be photoshop CS2 @ e849.... though photoshop elements @ e74 will do all the basic photo editing tasks.

don't install FC Studio on an iBook, if you are forking out for that software , at least buy a Powerbook, preferably a G5 tower as you will be restricted by the video card in the ibook (even the powerbook)

If money is not a problem get a MacBook Pro, first computer of the world playing HD 1080 Video without dropping a single frame!!!

basically, the MBP is the puppies privates! 1080 is the best quality HD video in use on a regular basis today.....to playback 1080 at full resolution without dropping frames is VERY processor intensive.

In fact at the winter olympics there, NBC used quad G5 boxes to output realtime graphics in HD

I can't remember where I read it last week, but doing a bit of search I just found a comparation with previous Powerbook and a Powermac Dual G5 2.0Ghz.

Basicly says that a MacBook Pro 1.86Ghz moves 1080p Video using less processor than a Powermac Dual G5 2.0Ghz! Pretty impressive...
