    Hi,

    What i want to do is take out a bit of a song which i like and use it as my ringtone on my phone. The song is something like 7mins long but the part i like starts at 2.50mins, is there any program that will let me take about 20 or 30 seconds out of the full song starting at whatever point i want?

    Thanks,

    Bubba

    besweet (belight is a frontend) will convert it to wav. There are lots of wav editors out there. Windows includes one (sound recorder) though it is pretty terrible, it's probably fine for a ringtone.

    Audacity should do exactly what you're looking for.
    Having never used it myself I can't for definate, but have a look see anyway :)
    Linky!

    Edit
    * Record live audio.
    * Convert tapes and records into digital recordings or CDs.
    * Edit Ogg Vorbis, MP3, and WAV sound files.
    * Cut, copy, splice, and mix sounds together.
    * Change the speed or pitch of a recording.
    * And more! See the complete list of features.

    Audacity (Free) or CoolEdit (pfft...moneh...pfft.) will do the job.
    I've used Audacity briefly, and it will do the job and do it well - all in one go(i.e. No need for extra app's for this sort of job).
