    Need some purchacing advice please.

Need to buy new comp and always went down the dell route before.
I use it for gaming mostly and some exel / word apps and also email.
My buget is 800 quid, but I must say that I dont have any experience in building my own !! ( Complete Newb )
I want a really decent graphics card so I dont have to upgrade 6 months later.
I feel the need for speed, but have always gone down the pentium route also.
And also enough HD for BF2 et al.
I do have a big fat dell 19" monitor so I feel that will do to keep the cost down and utilise the funds for better kit.
Is there anything I can buy off the shelf that will satisfy my thirst for gaming supremacy? or will I have to build myself? ( Im not adverse to trying to build, but dont wanna f**k it up ! )

ANY HELP WOULD BE FANTASTIC !!!

BTW Im curently using Dimension 4500, P4 2.26Ghz, 80GB HD 1024 Ram (Recently Upgraded) PNY 6600 card with 256mb (also upgraded before xmas )

    KEEP IT REAL PEOPLE !!

Keeping it real here, you're not going to get anything amazing for 800 yoyos.

Sell your current machine and add that to the 800.

if i were you i would be replacing the guts of the dell with an upgrade kit - and adding a second hard drive - all you need in the kit is a motherboard, cpu and memory - and i suppose you'll want a new video card -
i know nothing about video cards except that you could spend 800 on the card alone - so i suppose you'll have to prioritise
if you decicde to do the above then make sure your current psu has enough power or you;ll have to replace that aswell - you'd prob want at least 3 or 4 hundred wats but you'd have to make sure - just open the case and have a look around
also you could get away this way without reinstalling the op system and all software but i really think you should try to start from a clean slate, just make sure you have cd's licence and backups before you start

komplett.ie are a good place to start
