ALICE IN CHAINS, DEF LEPPARD, STONE SOUR and BLOODSIMPLE have been confirmed for the tenth edition of Gods Of Metal festival, set to take place June 1-4 at Idroscalo in Milan, Italy.

These bands are almost gaurenteed to confirm Download UK and as such a support slot with Guns N Roses or Metallica may follow, especially with Def Leppard supporting GnR.....cause id love to see that happen!

alice aren't still playing... they stopped years ago way before layne even died, and theres no way a band as big would support metallica because korn are already there and they probably play an hour like slipknot did

Well apparently they choose Maynard James Keenan, last I heard, because he worked with Layne in Mad Season all those years ago. Theyve been going since last year around the time of the tsuami when they reunited to play a charity gig to support the victims. it was pretty lo key, although i do remember mtv did an article on it all right. most people dont realise alice in chains have gotten back together, but it has actually happened.

They need Velvet Revolver hehe. Then those nu-gnr guys can feck off and Slash can reclaim the throne.

The singer from Jerry Cantrell's touring band is singing with AIC. Maynard only sang with them at that benefit gig last year on a couple of songs along with a load of other singers. He was absolutely CLASS though.

Yeah, apart from the fact that the sound was shíte, Slash did no extended/dramatically different solos(didn't matter anyway since you couldn't hear them) and the highlight of the show was the GNR covers since the VR stuff is mainly bland generic crap. And guess what? Axl's a better singer, songwriter and frontman than Scott Weiland(although he admittedly did justice to Mr Brownstone and Used to Love her, but I mean what a sellout, he's just in it for the money, he recently launched his own clothing line...).

PEOPLE, STOP THE FÚCKING NEW GNR BASHING ALREADY!

bloodsimple wipe the floor with most of these bands anyway.

Saw GNR in Slane in '92 (?), just around the time that they were getting ****e but before anybody got the balls to say so. Axl is a stain. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than pay to see him sell out, so to speak.

only problem with Aiken is they are really slow to give out the correct information on gigs - they don't update their own site, so I can't see this one being any use unless someone else is organising it.......we'll see...

thanks for the link by the way.....
