How to get to the "Point Theatre"?

    Hi everyone,

Could someone please tell me what is the best way of getting to the point theatre from Dublin city centre using public transport?

I have looked at it's page in ticketmaster but they say you can get a 53 & 54 bus to it but if you go to www.dublinbus.ie the 54 route doesn't appear to exist. So this has me wondering if the 53 goes there at all.

    Thanks,
    A.

It's only a 15/20 minute walk from O'Connell Street bridge to be honest.

The Custom House and North Wall quay are quite a nice walk.

Thanks DownTime, it does indeed. However, the times are extremely limited. The last bus is at 13:45.

I would need to be heading out there at the later time of arond 19:00 but as the 53a goes there then the 53 might go somewhere near it.

    Thanks all the same,
    A.

Thanks Bluetonic, I have walked it in the past but I would feel safer if I was able to get a bus there. I have walked it in the past with some male friends but this time it'll only be my sister and myself. Also, it'll be dark at the time we want to head over that way.

Would a taxi be very expensive?

    Thanks,
    A.

Probably around 5/6 euro from O'Connell St Bridge but the key would be to get it from around the Custom House and one that is going down the quays so it doesn't give the drive an excuse to take an orbital route!

Anyhow the walk down has become a lot safer in recent years, and hopeful will continue to become so.

If you are going to a concert or play there should be many people walking up too if thats any consolation.

Both routes 53 and 53A serve the Point Depot.

The 53 terminus is beside the Point Depot, but this bus operates via North Strand and East Wall.

The 53A is a much more limited service operating via North Wall.

As an alternative, there are always routes 2 and 3 to Ringsend Church and a short walk across the East Link bridge.
