Hey, www.play.com still have the Elder Scrolls:Oblivion pencilled in for a 24/3 release but does anyone know contradictory information on whether or not the game has slipped further?, I'm really starting to get sick and tired of the delays for this game and before anyone says the phrase "Would you rather they delayed it and released it in perfect condition or have them released it bug ridden last Christmas".. I was saying the same thing at Christmas but the delays are getting a bit **** now (nowhere near Half Life 2's standard but irritating nonetheless)..

I dont know about this particular case, but play.com arent the most up to date with their game release dates when they get put back, so I wouldnt put too much stock in them.

Earlier in the day this site was showing as 20/3/06, back to TBA now.... take that as you may.

Also, this guy (a dev) is unlocking the achievments so that could point towards an almost "golden" version.

Well all seems on course then, now I'm left pondering whether to get the PC version or the 360 version?. I'd personally rather (for the control system and the ability to install mods) the PC version, but we all know the never ending saga of patching PC games and on a 56k modem this isn't feasible, but if the game has been delayed this much, would it be safe to assume that the PC version would be almost as bug free as the 360 edition? (well, not totally bug free as obviously the 360 version is geared to work on identical hardware therefore less likely to have bugs)...

The PC and the Xbox versions of Morrowind had clearly superior and inferior control schemes, respectively. But the 360 is next-gen in more than just its graphics -- the 360 controller is quite nice as well. Just like on a PC, on 360 you can now actually map any button to any function you like and save anywhere, anytime. More impressively, the default 360 control scheme is actually superior to the PC one. The inventory and character screens are organized so smoothly that it's noticeably easier to just snap from field to field with your shoulder buttons and a thumbstick than to try to get to them with a mouse and keyboard -- and that's really impressive. And while a PC running at the top of today's models will have no problem running Oblivion, the 360 version looks and runs so smooth it's hard to justify taking up all that space on your PC's hard drive.

Also, with x-box live, it is only a matter of time until devs allow themselves leverage for patching (CoD 2).

actually I was thinking of getting both versions, the PC version for the mods that will come out, the xbox version for the sit down ability on the couch in front of big TV, not having to boot up PC etc etc, mind you I will probably have to trade in PGR3 and condemned to justify expense!:)
