i think in UCC its one of the options if you go through biochem
you do a general first year, pick options for second year that allows you at least three possible final degree outlets, for third and fourth year you specialize in your chosen degree. think the points are about the low four hundreds

In TCD you choose it as a speciality as part of your Science Degree. First and second year are general and then you choose what you want to spcify in for the third and fourth years i.e. biochem, zoology, botany, chemistry, microbiology etc.

It's a brilliant course and so interesting- you can do medical zoology (neuroscience and parasitology) or environmental zoology (behaviour, ecology, freshwater, marine etc) but the two overlap and you can do optional extra courses from other disciplines.

Finished my undergrad there in 2002, 4 years later still a postgrad, they can't get rid of me :o:D

I study Zoology myself and I think it's one of the best subjects to do an undergraduate degree in.

If you want to study Trinity College, Dublin you need to put this course on your CAO

    TR071 Science
This course requires you do 2 years general science, then you specialise in zoology in the final 2 years ( a 4 year degree).
You need a C in Ordinary Maths or a D in Higher plus TWO Cs in 2 subjects from the following Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Chemistry, Mathematics, Geology, Geography, Applied Mathematics, Agricultural Science

If you wnat to study in UCd you should consider these courses:

    DN008 Science
This course also requires you do 2 years general science, however there is a module called zoology in second year. You can choose to do a 3 year ordinary degree or a 4 yaer honours degree. You need the same requirement as trinity in maths but only 1 science subject.
    DN010 Agricultural Science
    DN046 Animal Science

I'm not in UCD so I don't know exactly the ins and outs of these subjects so you should read up about them, especially the horizons things.

If you want to study in UCC you should do one of the following

    CK402 Biological and Chemical Sciences
CK404 Environmental and Earth System Sciences

if you want to study in NUI Galway you need to take either

    GY301 Science
    GY310 Marine Science
    Gy309 Environmental Science

Most of the courses required you enter via General Science and go from there. This is a good idea because you may realise you prefer Biochemistry to Zoology or Neuroscience etc.
