Pretty good, but don't glamourise it too much.

In reality, most of the riotors are the same people who cause trouble on paddy's day, halloween, leaving cert results night, etc etc.
If you look at the video's, most people who were "rioting" were typical townies.
The point of burning "irish peoples car's" and wrecking "irish business's" makes no sense at all. It was just an excuse to cause trouble. Im the first to admit, orangemen should not have been allowed walk down a busy street, on a busy day, in a vast majority catholic society.
If shi'te muslims were walking down the road celebrating the middle east war, would it go peacefully? Probably not. If they brought their guns, it would!
THe dublin "riots" were just cowards who used it as an excuse to cause mindless carnage and disruption. In fairness, there is alot of video footage of people you can clearly see. Arrest those people, advertise who they are.
I for one wasnt out "rioting" but i sure would make myself known if they paraded around people who got off on wrecking their own home town.

I wasn't trying to glamorise it, just dramatise it.. don't worry I'll be uploading a complete neutral clip in a few Minutes.

    I disagree, RATM seems perfect.

The Benny Hill music would work a treat too.

seems good but tbh ratm + riot vids should only ever get put together when the riots are about some cause, and not random knackers throwing bricks and bottles at the gards.

    Riot:
    1. A wild or turbulent disturbance created by a large number of people.
(Incidently, the law states that a riot is: A violent disturbance of the public peace by three or more persons assembled for a common purpose).

It was a riot. Property get's destroyed, regardless of it who it belongs to. It wasn't an attempt to protest against the march (although some people may have tried?). Now don't get me wrong, I'm not supporting it. I've seen a few people saying what you did, and I'm just pointing out the obvious.

Edit: The vid's pretty alright considering the circumstances. As for music, I think it works alright enough. Although if you're looking for suggestions, I'd suggest Fight Song or Mobscene by Manson. Seem to suit the atmosphere.

    Beuatiful.

OP, I think you should do something about those blank spaces near the end of the vid.

I think it's ana lright little piece for the time you had.
    still can't believe it

then in the words of malcolm X "your democracy is a hypocracy".
the orangemen were just stirring the ****e, but it's not illegal, just let the sa d little bastards march and ignore them, they'll slowly die out in a few years, they haven't evolved sinde the 1600's.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

but to be honest if it wasn't for the knacks the orange men would have walked.. so at least somethign good came of this!

    Kind of contradicted yourself there.
If they lasted that long, they're hardly going to die out in a few years.
Unless they realise that no one cares anymore, which judging by yesterday, isn't going to happen.

I'd add a vote for that as the backing music.

    Agreed.

    Stick on Audioslave's Cochise.

If nothing else, the "I'm not a martyr, I'm not a prophet" line really does sum up the pointlessness of these riotous individuals.

Why were you being chased by the "Po-Po's"

My music selection would be G'N'R - Welcome to The Jungle.

no i believe that they are nowhere near as relevant now as they have been and that in the last 50 years they have witnessed a slow decline in their importance, they will die out soon enough if we keep ignoring them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭OctavarIan

    For music:

    Dream Theater - Panic Attack
Dream Theater - War Inside My Head

    RATM = yuck

Why were you being chased by the "Po-Po's"

The police weren't going to just avoid certain people, I was hardly gonna stand in there way.

anything from rage against the machine would suit the images from yesterday

Or, Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now.

That could work well with it.

J.R. Hartley: Assuming they are declining, fair enough so.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,145 ✭✭✭DonkeyStyle \o/

The most suitable music would be the kind of shíte these skang-bangers listen to... scooter or something.
Really, there's no righteous cause here... just knackers being knackers and havin a millaaaaa.
When the angsty skater teens have their riot, then you can use RATM.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,391 ✭✭✭arbeitsscheuer

Actually, given that most of the ammo used by the rioters was from the roadworks at the bottom of O'Connell, this would be most apt:

Build it Up, Tear It Down - Fatboy Slim

EDIT: RatM would be a bad choice, cos they're Socialist, Radical, and Political. The riot yesterday reflected none of this...

Putting RATM or 'Orange Crush' by REM/Audioslave etc with that footage just makes it seem like it was a worthy protest against the 'powers at be', which it certainly wasn't. Rage music lyrically deals with the 'oppressed', senselessly setting cars on fire and turning them over in an act of thuggery is hardly something 'cool' to be accompanied with music so the ****ers who weren't arrested can download footage on the net, put it on their phones and think they're Al Capone.
Some skanger ****e like 'Rollin down ta Dub-ba-lin town' song that was out a few years ago would suffice.
