    If was to join the gards... would it be difficult to get into the SDU?? or the drugs squad after 3 years of service???

    Anybody have any idea??

    are you sure you want to be in either of those units ? Do you know anything about the type of work they do ? or have you just turned off an episode of CSI and felt that would be cool

    Never once saw csi!!!

    I know the kinda work they do!!! Im from Dundalk!!!!

    Great money and you get to make a differnce in society!!!!

    Bob04 it depends on whether you are willing to put in the initial time, training takes a good two years and then probationer is a continued 2 years and then you need to fulfil the requirement of a member of the uniformed unit for another 2 years really. So your looking at about 4 years rather than 3 after you complete your training. For those interested in CSI its ballistics/serious crime department that deal with that not the SDU.
