Really low Buy It Now. Never dealt with the seller and sold "as seen", so beware. Only reason Im not buying is I already have some Atlas II drives (these are original version 1s).

not really to be honest. the only way that you could stop the money is to cancel the cheque before they lodge it, which you can't do until you know there is a problem, by then the money will be well gone. the only way to buy things off ebay if you're worried about the seller is through paypal, where payment can be blocked off your credit card. sounds a bit dodgy to me.

no you do get your money back but i think its only for paypal payERs.

So you are totally protected by both PayPal and failing that your credit card. The auction looks fairly legit tho, accept for the fact of course he makes no promises the drives work.. but hey, its a liquidation and hes selling for half-nothin.

Also $50 is piss cheap for International Courier shipping. I sell and buy quite a lot on eBay and thats a perfectly acceptable figure for fast shipping from the US to here. Shipping insurance would be included in that, but thats really for the sellers protection, not yours (as you pay via PayPal). If you want uninsured 6week USPS shipping then Im sure its cheaper..

Ive picked up lotsa great kit at bargin prices on eBay, but its all about taking a chance. Ive had problems with scams too, but PayPal (well Visa really) are unbeatable, any problems, near instant 100% money back.

is what i was refering to. if you send someone a personal cheque and it goes wrong, you're screwed. if its paypal/visa/mastercard, you're more likely to be covered. thats all i was saying.

He has sent about 30 dead drives out in the last few months, not to mention other crap goods. These are probably coming from a skip.

And no way would uninsured postage for a hard drive would be $50 with USPS.
