Dont know at the point but at slane if you ask nice security guard in a nice manner he'll give you one. You have to be there early. You dont know anybody that works there by any chance?

At the Foos it was just get there early, I think it was the same for Oasis.

Not every gig at the Point has a pit. I can't say for definite but I don't think they would have one for Kanye West, as there's not going to be much in the way of moshing/crowdsurfing going on.

They likely will have one for this gig. They tend to have them for any gig where they expect a lot of movement since the barriers they typically use can be dangerous in those situations.

To get into the Point pit get there early. Otherwise you won't get in. The security get a great laugh out of making people queue for armbands that they have no intention of giving out. Only one in ten gigs will they actually let people in after the show starts.

I've queued a number of times for a wristband after a gig has started and I always got into the pit after a few minutes...

There's a maximum number of people they are allowed to have access to the pit. Sometimes they give out all thier wrist bands early, sometimes they don't. It's entirely down to the security team.

    What kind of gigs?

I'd guess they'd be no pit for Kanye West.

It's usually for me just luck if you get into the pit or not!

Its quite simple, just get there early, within the first 200-300 people i'd guess, as thats all the pit can hold i wreckon. Once there, just keep an eye out for people gathering in one place/around a couple of security members etc. Its usually very obvious. And if all else fails, try and find out if anyone you know has gotten in! If they have, and there's more than one of them you follow these steps:

    1)Bring chewing gum.

2)Get one person ALREADY IN the pit to remove his/her pit band.

3)Get a friend of said person to take the removed wrist band and leave the pit to meet you outside the toilets.

4)Take the removed pit band into the toilet and put it on your wrist, sticking it with a small piece of pre-chewed chewing gum.

5)Both of you return to the pit. If the band was removed carefully it should look fine on you and will pass no problem.

6)Repeat as necessary until everybody is in.

Please note: Should these steps be repeated multiple times, alternate the person leaving with the removed wristband as the guards may get suspicious.

This DOES work, I myself have pulled it off at 4 seperate gigs, taking up to five people in to the pit!

    Best of luck my friend!

    P.S. Kayne West?????!???? :P

If you get there early, I mean an hour before gates open, you will be given a pit pass on your way through the security check

At certain points during the support acts the security guards at the pit entrance will also give out bands. Just queue at the pit entrance for a bit and you should get one.

I turned up at The Strokes gig at 7:00 and got a pitband no problem.

I guess it will be similar for Kanye West.... I would probably say to you if you're that desperate for a pit band to go between 5:30 -6:00... however since it's on a Saturday there could be more people queuing than usual.

Queuing for the pit is painful. I did it for 6 hours for the f**king Foo Fighters (not that I wanted to but my mates wanted to) and the following day I did it for 3 and half hours for Oasis (well worth it though!).... I still haven't recovered!

We arrived at 7p.m. for the pogues and were given pit bands while in the queue outside. Of course I proceeded to get kicked out of it half way through DKM but anyways :P

    Its quite simple,...

I continue to be astounded that people forget that the reason the point has ****ty rules regards the amount of people at certain gigs at the front is because SOMEONE DIED THERE. Stop circumventing them.

Couldn't give a toss, I'm not gonna kill anyone, and i'll take my risks, don't think i'm gonna get killed.

Overcrowding doesn't occur because of one person's inactions, but because of many people. You might not intend to be part of something that ends up hurting or killing somebody, but that's what overcrowding at concerts often leads to.

I'm nobody at the Pearl Jam set at Roskilde thought they were going to be a part of something that led to people being killed, but they were.

Bernadette O'Brian was her name I believe. And the whole venue was overcrowded that night. The ticket sales now prevent that number of people from ever getting in to the point, so it will never get crowded to the stage where some gets crushed again. Quite simple really.

Anyway, i'm not debating this, its pointless.
