I'm planning on heading down to a 20 euro game in Barcode, Clontarf tonight. Anyone know any details on it? Time it starts, who's running it etc.

I wouldn't usually head down to these 'pub type' games, but a few friends are heading down so I said I'd join them.

    Any info would be helpful.

    Cheers

(Also, I'm not sure if this should be in another section, I'm in a hurry so you MOds can move it if you must!)

played. seems to be a cut above yur average pub tournie, 7 tables of 6/7 players per table. some regs seen from pub tournies on DNS (de North side) some Fitz regs standard fairly ok ~ish.

+270 end of month ticket/credit in FitzCC added to prize pool.....nice!

AJos, called blind pre flop(yeah i know :( ), flop 734, all in, called by 56h and thats all she wrote.
    Out shortly after break.
    Good nights poker tho' :)

Are there any pub tournies around this area tomorrow (friday) night? I know there's one in the Sheds in clontarf but I think thats a monday night. Is the Barcode a regular weekly one?

I just wanted to say great blog Rory (even if it is comprised of almost nothing but bad beat stories)! The barcode entry is fvcking hilarious. It's the way u tell em that makes them so good. I even started to sympathise with u towards the end . Keep up the good work.

It is a collection of badbeat rants, fit for the bb thread but now they have their own site.

I've just read the whole thing in work and it is absolutely hilarious. I think the problem is volume of hands online vs volume of live hands inadvertently leads to alot more bad beats. I could blog 100 or so since the start of february alone that have cost me about 2k. Theres nothing sicker than losing a huge pot to a 1-outer on the river. I literally scream and curse at the top of my voice when it happens but you have to get on with it. I tilt worse than most people and its ahrd to take, but go away from the computer, geta punching bag, do something. If i stay at the computer i throw money away(as i play cash 90% of the time). Now i press sitout and leave the PC for 20 minutes or so to cool my rage.

That said, I've suffered equally badbeats live of late. i lost a €900 pot in the SE last week to a donkey who hit a 2-outer on the river when it was all in on the turn. That left me fuming zand i immediately lost €100 next hand when i decided i had to reraise a rock who raised preflop. I had Kh5h and duly laid it down when he rereraised me and showed bullets.

Ive played 5000 hands this month oline. ive probably played 500 live. obviously im gonna see way more bad beats online. Thats the nature of the beast. You need to find some way of disciplining yourself. Add these people to your buddylist and be hppy in the fact that you will take money off them long term.

Yeh it's going that way isin't it? At least my misery is amusing... :p

Fcuk it I'm off to Prague for the weekend, and I don't want to see a deck of cards till next week :D:D:D

:D just read yur blog.....i feel yur pain man.

When i say it was a cut above you raverage pub tournie, I mean most of the pub games i've went too have 90% of players that would find the Fitz freeroll a challenge :D

My table had a lot of quality (it would seem-myself not included) it had.... 2 Ftiz regs, a tournie organiser, good player that i've watched make final table thru the minefield of pub players and some bloke who had an ok understanding of what was goin on.
Just remember this RoryC, pub players u can always get action from, they think Ace rag is a monster, hit anything on flop, middle or bottom pair -> all in! Woot!. Let them thin themselves out, contribute to the prize pool and get them to donate their ill gotten gains to you!.
    Chin up son.
    :)

Corben Surely "yeah i know :( " should go after "all in".

what i mean is> the all in after the flop is a bad play made worse because i should have moved preflop with a x2 blinds raise or pot bet, which prob would have got a fold from the 56h player.

    one for RoryC....

after goin allin and seeing a floped straight for opp. (me drawing dead)just ot add insult> turn J, and river A!!!!
    :D er :(
