    hey guys
I dont own a HD TV, cant afford one either but ordered the VGA cable from play.com thinking I could just hook it up to my Dell M991 ultrascan 19" CRT monitor which gives an amazing display quality.. to my shock and horror there doesnt seem to be a bloody VGA slot at the back of it that I can use for my Xbox360, I thought every monitor sold for past 10 years had VGA inputs at the back?

So where do I go from here, got this lovely VGA cable and cant use it, is there anywhere that I can get a really good quality but cheap 19" monitor that I can hook my Xbox360 upto using the VGA cable? thanks

Most monitors only have one cable, at least the few I have at home do. You can get a VGA splitter fairly cheaply off Ebay.

You have no problem at all. Take the vga cable coming from the monitor and connect it to the 360 vga cable using the male to female adapter supplied with the vable. Voila, looks great on a CRT.

got it working at last through a very long method! I managed to find an ancient 3dfx SLI cable which had a male and female connector, but seeing as i needed both female this wouldnt work, so I went to Maplins today and they said that they didnt have any female to female but they managed to find me a gender bender which fitted onto the male end of the 3dfx cable which now connects my xbox VGA cable to the CRT monitor VGA cable perfectly! I turned it on and noticed that switching resolution up to the hightest setting that the type looked a tiny bit sharper, but as soon as I booted up Dead Or Alive 4, the difference was staggering! It almost looks like a different game it looks that damn good.. better than any hi-res stuff ive seen run on any £4,000 alienware pc. I had no idea that the difference between standard and HD resolutions on the XBox360 would be so massive! thanks for the help guys:)
