    There will be a public lecture next Friday night, Friday 24th February at 6.30 in the Maxwell Lecture Theatre, First Floor, Hamilton Building, Trinity College Dublin, on the topic:

    Government and Privacy in the Digital Age

    The speakers will be:

    - Suw Charman, a journalist, consultant and author, and Executive Director of the Open Rights Group (a new digital civil liberties advocacy group for the UK), and

    - TJ McIntyre, Lecturer in Law, UCD, and Chairman of Digital Rights Ireland (a similar Irish group recently established to protect civil, legal and human rights in a digital age).

    <bump>

    You can bank on me going to this. TJ McIntyre had a lot to do with the creation of this forum.

    Might tip along to it myself. TJ McIntyre lectures equity in third year doesn't he? Fair play to him for setting up the board here too...

    He set up the board? So is he a moderator here or something? (High unlikey I would have thought as academics don't have that much time to spend on the internet chatting in forums...)

    NO! I set up the forum. He helped advise me as to the legal issues of such a forum so that I'd know what to say to DeV about it.[/EGO]

    TJ isn't a moderator here. Me, besty and Gandalf are.[/++EGO]

    You never did reveal what were the legal implications of setting up such a forum...

    ...and hey I could be Gerard Hogan for all you know ;)

    I'm not btw
