Does anyone else here think that school is pretty pointless from now on? Here's my ideal world: study from nine till three at home every day, then socialise! Oh the fun of it. I can't get over the feeling that I could compress all the work I get done in an average school day into two or three hours, and then my evenings would be gloriously free. Also, I'm just plain sick of school. Is anyone planning to study at home for the last month or two?

yeah i love the thought of ending in april! won't do a tap at home but i'd just take it off to sleep in, spend maybe 2 hrs trying to study and then chill. also im incredibly sick of school, can't stand it. go in, sleep through classes, sleep through breaks and wake up once i come home. all me courses basically wrapped up anyway so it's just a case of getting the finger out to get top marks. tbh im more interested in computers/tech anyway so i give skool the 2 fingers. cant wait to burn all my books, school bag and uniform :p

i know that if I take more than the last week of school off I'll do nothing whatsoever at home. School every day keeps me focused! Plus i like being in school with my friends messing about and stuff!

Yeah the above^ and I'd find myself on feck!n boards, perusing AH seeing what all the bored workers are yackin about.

Some colleges finish up in April don't they? That's crazy, such a cushy year.

I've already thrown my irish books in the bin. Now to face irish paper 2 tomorrow.

It'd be great if they put all the doss classes last thing in the evening, that way you could go home early and not risk missing anything important, and do more study.

Although you can do more productive study in the day than school hours, you still need to be taught the more difficult parts and school helps reinforce what you already knew.

I suppose we're better off in there for most of the year. As long as you're 18+ though it should be up to you to attend. Wait a minute...it is, isn't it?

I would if I could, but I doubt I would be allowed just stop going to school! Besides, apart from one or two subjects, I actually somewhat enjoy school.

I gotta say I kinda enjoy it too, but it's not as good as proper socialising, if you know what I mean :D Also, I'm in a single-sex school which is the most evil idea ever.

I got SO much study done over the mid term, but then I took last monday off, felt really guilty, because I didn't get much work done, and then went in on tuesday and regretted it! we just sat around the classrooms for the day, the odd teacher deciding to do some work, so we couldn't bring in whatever books we wanted to study, which was pure gay!

Also, I went to a mixed school in mount merrion for like 6 months of 6th class (got kicked out of my old school with 6 months to go! guh!) but it was the best school I've ever been to! I'm in a same sex school at the mo, and I don't think it's half as good, although with the institute next door, you get a nice view now and again.. :P

I'm seriously tempted to take some time off and do some study at home, I can see myself getting a lot more done that way, and maybe go into school the odd day if I need to get help from a teacher.. Doubt the 'rents would let me tho..

Well seeing as I have still got more than a third of the biology course it might be best to turn up.

That being said, its certainly debatable as to which would be more effective taking the ineptitude of my teacher into account......

Realistically I will get feck all done if I stay at home.
