Hey folks, I set up a wireless network for a mate using a Lynksys WKPC54G. He has a desktop wired to the router and a laptop using a wireless card. While I was there everything seemed to work fine. Both Laptop and Desktop are getting their IP address from the router, router is set up with the IBB settings.
Problem is if the desktop is turned off he tells me he cannot get on the Internet from his laptop. As soon as he starts up his desktop, the laptop is happy. This does sound strange, but said I'd ask here before I go to have a look at it. Has anyone had this problem ? Is it an IBB problem ?

Before ye start on the IBB issue, he has no choice really...............

Im not sure how those IBB modems work , but they dont look like the usual adsl modems , how does it get its power ? Is it standalone , or does it depend on the PC in some way , its obvious I know but sometimes these problems are !!
