There's a show being organised (not by me) for March 11th at Rathoath GAA club, while not strictly for classics there'll be some classic Alfa's, Lancia's & Ferrari's on show as well as race cars and some new models to oogle over.

    Show kicks off a 2pm.

:D Wow moving old Italian cars around for display must be like transporting the BOOK OF KELLS:D

thats cool . how many cars, do you know, are likely to be there?

Not sure of the numbers to be honest, I just seen the open invite posted on an alfa site. But apparently there is a load of old Fiats & Alfa's, a few Lancia's and 2 (so far) Ferrari's.

The Book Of Kells can't make this one :)

AAAAGGGHHH, I can't go on that day, its also posted on the Fiat Club site in the UK and theres talk of a convoy of Fiat 131 Sports coming over.
The Northern Ireland Italian Car club are organising an All Ireland Italian car day in Athlone on May 20th.

    Woo! Nice one alfarocks.

I think I might trundle up there. Not too far for Il Spider to travel.
It's on the same day as the Ireland v Scotland game but sure thems the breaks.

Shame you can't make it Blue850. :( I've never seen an 850 (or indeed another 124 Spider) in Ireland.

Found a map to the Ratoath GAA club if anyone's interested - here.

    :)

Ya should be a good day out if the weather clears up... There's also head-to-head racing for those with thirsty V8's that can't afford to keep them on the road :)
(Although the-head Xbox racing fo Ps2 has a much better selection of racing classics)

Do you know if there is some sort of registration process, alfa?
Or does one just turn up and park in a field?

    :)

Just spoke with the guy organising this, basically turn up before 2 if you've got a show car - there might be a charge of about €10 per car to cover insurance costs but this is not finalised yet..

    A show car, eh?

Is that just a car that you could eat your dinner off, or would it include a daily driver that's been given a rub and a hoover? :v:

Ok its "a car to show" rather than "show car" :) Anything Italian will do be the sounds of it..

    Ah crap!

Glad I got up early to wax the car before work this morning.
If I'd left it till tomorrow chances are I wouldn't get a big enough rain-free window.

Oh for a day like today, tomorrow...

You want pics? I got pics!

    Italian Car Show

I'm no longer a show virgin! Although I couldn't stay as long as I wanted, I enjoyed the sights. Good variety of cars, with a few non-Italians thrown in as well. A big pity the rain arrived as it turned into a cold and wet day.

I finally saw another Fiat Spider (red) - driving out the gate as I was arriving. Never came back either to my disappointment.

The full size pics are big when you click on the thumbs, so beware...

    CHEERS! :)

    Great pics The Atheist!

Those Lancia 037s are fantastic but have never seen one in the flesh before. They must be worth about €100k. Wish I was there to have heard the engine running!

The Maserati 3500GT is lovely too - I have some pictures of that very car which I took at Kilbroney years ago. Glad to see it's still around.

Was a decent enough show as Atheist said but the rain did spoil things a bit - did give us a chance to see the rugby though..
Ya the Maserati was stunning and won best in show. Plenty of X1/9 and 131's turned up as well but not too many Alfa's.

    Here's a few more pics...

    And more..

Hey alfarocks - you captured the other Fiat Spider - nice one!

But what were they thinking with those rims

Yep a bit on the bling side alright....
