Question about 1.2 and Special Forces...

    Ok, so when I ran the patch first time I ended up with an uplayable game.
    Re-installed everything and ran the patches up to 1.2.
    Thing is I can't join any SF servers, tells me im running the wrong version...
    So, would someone be so nice to tell should my version of SF be 1.12 or 1.2 in the community section of the BF2 browser...

    SF should be 1.2. Once you install 1.2 it changes SF as well as BF2.

    Never install all the patches, you just need the last one (1.2 380Mb)

    BF2 -> SF -> patch 1.2

    is there a way of patching SF up to 1.2?
    BF2 vanilla is 1.2.... When I try to run the full or incremental patch I'm told I need 1.12..

    I think you are confusing things a little based on the problems you're having. SF is just a mod of BF2. You can't patch BF2 without patching SF at the same time.

    Once 1.2 patched correctly then SF is normally ok; there isn't a way to do BF2 on it's own or SF on it's own.

    BF2 vanilla is 1.0. Do you mean that you've installed the 1.2 patch?


    If you run SF, the version number is on the top-right of the screen where you see the ad for EuroForces, it should sat 1.1.2696-528, does it?

    Sorted it... I just installed the big patch again...

    I think it was because I installed it arseways the other day, remember you were raising eyebrows as to the sequence I had done it in...

    Ah well, all fixed...

    Don't forget that firing a TOW from a HMMVW crashes a SF server with the 1.2 patch.
