Well it seems to be the style of the times so I thought I'd get opinions on a few of my photos. I've been doing photography for a year or so, but have only really taken an interest lately. Some of these were taken on a big ugly Canon powershot A40 (?) and others on my lovely new film SLR.

The Colin photo was part of a college project. Orange is actually only about 600x400 pixels, the camera was set to that accidently... The statue photo was taken in very low light conditions so its a bit grainy.

It would appear that im only allowed to have five per post. I'll throw up some more later, for now I have to run.

Colin -Do you mind telling more about the photo? was it for school as a photographic project etc etc..?

It seems slightly blurry & underexposed. Nice enough portrait snapshot tho, better than some of the stuff I've seen. What is the in the foreground that seems to be out of focus?

    An Angry Cherub

This one is pretty strange, the balance and lighting are kinda bad, the image looks very flat and frankly it hasn't got anything you could salvage from it. Poor lighting and again lacks crispness. I say ditch the film SLR, holding you back, what one is it BTW?

    Lights

I dont see whats too great about this, sorry If it sounds like I'm just ripping your work apart, I'm just giving you my opinion. This could have been done better, it had potential, from a different angle would have been nicer.

    Molten Gold

very blurry, are you zooming in too much, or have you not practiced enough with manual zoom if that is what you are using?

    Nightfall

This one is a standard easy shot, aim at sunset, whack exposure down a notch, and bang there ya go. Noting much required to take the shot, but to a beginner it looks amazing. Nice enough all the same.

Keep practicing, you've got some potential, cos at least you're trying to take photos of different things, and not just the typical, except for the sunset.

I pretty much agree with Shrimp on them all. Although I like the lighting on the statue, just a pity about the resolution.

The first thing i saw when i looked at the Colin one was the blur in the front, its very distracting, but otherwise a really good shot as far as i'm concenred

The others are quite low quality as far as resolution are concerned, which is a pity. The last one of the sunset is really good, the colours came out very well.

It was for college. Simply do portraits of each other.

Its a hat, he was holding it, there were others without the hat but I just liked this one more overall. The camera was accidently set to the wrong ISO :) Blurry, maybe a bit, but you really think its underexposed? I thought it looked ok.

Ok, first of all this was taken on the OLD digital camera, not the SLR. I'll get the exact name of the SLR later. And yes, the lighting was poor, very very poor, it was taken in a very dark room.

    Just an experiment really.

Twas indeed very zoomed in. I realised afterward that it was actually on digital zoom... :(

Oh dont worry about that, all but one of those are naturally larger, I just had to shrink them to fit the minimum size for attachments.

    thanks for the respone too..

keep snapping.. as for colin, i think it is under-exposed as there are only blacks and dull greys, no real lights..

So what your saying is since anyone can do it, noone should do it, or what exactly is the purpose of this statement?

I really like angry cherub. Nice angle and nice lighting, you appear to have a good eye for that kind of thin. And I also quite like Lights, it's a bit odd but I think I see what you were going for, they look quite surreal.

While I agree with the sentiment...did you really need to use such obnoxious font size?
