Ryanair hand baggage

Quick question... I'm flying to Newcastle from Dublin tomorrow with Ryanair for work. I plan to have one piece of hand baggage plus a laptop in bag. I've gotten away with this on other airlines such as BMI and Aer Lingus, but ryanair being such tightwads, i'm not so sure.
Do you reckon they'll try to make me check one of them in or charge excess baggage? I really don't want to check anything into the hold as its a waste of bloody time when not absolutely necessary.

    Ta.

No, at least when I flew with them, before I sold the laptop, they didn't make me check one of the bags. Assuming the hand luggage isn't over 10 Kg.

Just put your laptop into the bag.

It really just depends on who you meet at the check in desk. I've never had any problem, but one evening in stansted I saw a person being asked to put a plastic bag containing the magazine/paper they had just bought into their hand luggage. The person on the check-in desk was counting it as a second piece of hand-luggage which I thought was the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen!!! I had two bags the same evening but was in a separate queue and had no problems.

I wonder if its a Union thing that the baggage has to be handled when landing, i.e. they could just hand the stuff out at the plane, esp. if its just a stairs, saves all the hassle then :)

I wonder if Ryanair will start using the baggage space they save for seating?

Anyway, when flying ryanair, i've never had any problems with more than 1 piece of hand baggage, I guess as long as they both weigh less than the limit.

I actually flew from Aberdeen to Dublin today with Ryanair. I had a carry-on bag and a laptop also. No probs!

    luck of the draw.

at dublin during the week showed overly full laptop bag + similar sized bag and ur man said no problem. on the way back was made to throw one of them into the hold, and when i mentioned what had happened in dublin she just pointed at the 10kg/one bag only sign.

The last time I flew with Ryanair from Dublin Airport, they had a sign stating that you could only carry on one piece of handluggage, excluding laptops.

So, if I interpreted the sign correctly, you should be fine.
