Interesting indeed, I was reading this yesterday afternoon....

The only point I would make is that there MUST be a market for all those "junk" channels, not me I hasten to add, because they would not exist otherwise...

Overall I do not think Sky is a bad package, it does have a good variety of programming, some of the oldies certainly stand a second viewing, but it does faulter on price and repitiveness.

We need a 20% cut in the cost of the full package and greater flexibility in the cost of multiroom. By this I mean we should be able to have two rooms by default and start charging after that....

    My 2 cents..... ;)

    baud.

Given Murdoch’s ability to get politicians to bend over to grab the proverbial shower soap

    Quality reading :)

Written before seeing the new Favorites EPG which almost answers a major bugbear since day one.

yes and no - assuming you're referring to the call for a "delete this channel" option. What's needed is the ability to entirely hide/remove a channel from the EPG and Search & Scan banner.

I agree with his assertion that really there's only about 10% of the output that most people will watch. I think Sky as a series of channels/platform was a lot better in its pre-digital days myself. Now it's over-priced, repetitive and stagnent - "400 channels and there's (quite often) nothing on" sums it up really.

yes really deleteing channels would be good, but the new Favorites EPG and increasing favorites to 50 is a start.

TV generally is not as good. TNT/TCM as was then was better, VH1 and MTV better. Hallmark on first launching on Sky Digital was better.

C4 has got rid of Film production and not commisioning great Kids animation any more, really a lot poorer. More Soaps, repeats and Reality TV.

Couldn't agree more regarding TNT, VH1 etc. They were much better back in their early days.
