The four models offer 32, 37, 42 and 47in screens, respectively. The two largest TVs support full 1920 x 1080p resolution and a brightness rating of 550cdpm² - the smaller screens run at 1366 x 768 and 500cdpm². The four have contrast rations of 1,200:1, 1,000:1, 800:1 and 800:1, respectively.

    (i.e. the 32 & 37" are PC resolution and the 42" & 47" true HDTV)

I recommend the 42" for Bedsit/Flats HDTV and the 47" (or bigger) for normal rooms if you want full value from your Sky HDTV box.

All The Sky test clips have been 1080 line. HDTV will be a mix of 1080 line and 720 line transmissions.

I see these also offer a pair of HDMI ports. Most TV's I've seen only have 1 HDMI port, which isn't enough if you have both SkyHD and DVD-HD player.

Have the Sky clips been 1080p or 1080i?

Almost certainly 1080I, Maybe further down the line 1080p will be available on hddvd players, but for Sky 720p is good enough. A tv with 720p and 1080i meets HD Standards and requirements.

The sky clips are 1440 x 1080p (animorphic pixels). They are not at all representative of real content. Oddly some have noticeable compression artifiacts on sharp contrasty edges, most notably on Nat Geo Logo. I was using 1600 x 1200 NATIVE pixel LCD at 1:1 pixel size for lines (as my screen is square pixel the horizontal would be resampled), i.e. 100% video size in Media Player. A WS format LCD with native animorphic pixels would display these better. Unless your screen is exactly 1440 x 1080 16:9 don't play full screen or it degrades the image further. You may need to adjust media Player advanced settings to get best quality, or even to get smooth video at all.

Sky HD will be BOTH 720p50 and 1080i25.

A TV with only 720p50 or 768p60 native but resampling/rescalling from ALL current resolution and 720p50 and 1080i25 meets "HD Ready" but is not very good for SD and poor for 1080i25

In the USA they are allowed to call 480 line native Sets HD ready as long as it will display HD by resampling.

XBox360 does 720p and 1080i (60 or 50 depending on USA/ Europe). HDDVD an option.

PS3 does 720p, 1080i and 1080p all in 60, 50 and 30, 25. Sony may drop game regionalisation. Bluray DVD standard. Note a BluRay or HDDVD X1 drive is much faster than a DVD x1 drive.

All Bluray and HDDVD players will do 720p and 1080i. Some will do 1080p.
    The Bluray allows 50GByte disks.

How much a bet that Lucas will do yet another edit of the 6 Starwars films for Bluray release this autumn or next year?

Anyone got episode III on VHS :) (I have the other 5 on VHS, I'll wait for Bluray and skip the DVD version!)

PS3 even has 2 HDMI ports and can allegedly output 1080p to 2 screens at once. It would be nice to have that much money.
