Hi, couldn't see if this has been covered already. But I have a small question. Road Tax, are classic cars subjected to the same road tax as regular motors? ie
    Engine Capacity
    1,501 to 1,600......€391 per year
    2,101 to 2,200......€722 per year
2,901 to 3,000......€1,109 per year etc.

Or do they (hopefully) come under another catagory like "VETERAN AND VINTAGE"?

    Cheers
    A.

A classic car is defined for road tax, as 30 years old or older and it costs about 40 euro a year (admin costs!)

So a car could be classed as a classic car for insurance purposses if it's 20 years old (depending on insurance company) but for road tax it must be 30 years old? Would I be right there?

Thought that might be the case! If only you could have a car count as a classic for road tax just the same as for insurance. Would that make too much sense though? ;)

Yes but this is Ireland! (actually its the same in UK). If Classic road tax began
with 1986 cars I'd be rushing out to buy something.
