Buy from komplett or Overclockers.co.uk or if you have a relative in america get them to buy you the parts.

Get a dual-core AMD processer like an opteron 175, get a good mainboard like an ASUS or DFI, get 2gb of low latency ram like OCZ or Corsair, get a 7800gtx 512mb or a X1900XT, get a good 600watt+ PSU like a Seasonic or Enermax, get a good case and lots of fans, or a watercooling setup if you want.......

;);) DO NOT BUY A DELL OR AN ALIENWARE;) ;)

    If your going to self build I would go with something along the lines of;
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4xxx
    Zalman CPU cooler
    1-2GB RAM
    Epox nForce 4
    Lian Li case
    ATI Radeon X1900 XTX
Primary HD = WD Raptor 150GB HD
Get other HDs for anything else you want e.g storage
    Tagen, Zalman or OCZ PSU
BenQ 1650 or 1655 DVD writer
    Creative X-Fi Music Edition
(I wouldnt waste money on the more expensive X-Fi models unless you need the SPID/IF connection & the X-RAM feature is barely used by any games)

if you buy from komplett, your more then likely gna have a problem.

Youll buy al lthe aprts they come you put together, if there is a problem with part, you have to send it abck withtin ten days, and they take 14 days for "testing" then another 10 days to re deliver another replacement, your nearly half a month without your pc.

I could recommend a very good seller on ebay known as ankormann. He sells pcs form germany, you get a base rig that you can upgrade with parts form his list and he send sthe whole shabang tested and loaded, built in the tower. And you get 2 yrs warranty on the tower not the parts. Anything happens your covered.

But as for the money your gna spend, for a top end machine futureproff 2500 is the real min your gna spend if you want something to do for ages. For 2000 youll get a savage pc stil lthough

Look at AMD x2 or 4200+ 64 bit defo
A motherboard that spurrorts pci and sli/crossfire is a min requirement
If you want a top range graph card go with a nvidia 7800gt or a radeon x1900xt, both are 512mb and pci. You could go sli or crossfire, basicalyy means running 2 at once.
Some sort of low latency ram, 1 gig min
A HD that is min 200gb, 72000rpm, 10kprm isnt essential
A case that you like and has easy port access on the front

And pretty much any toher accesoryies you want, 500w poer supply should be plenty.
