Well, I am no expert and I haven't actually started taking pictures myself yet (although my D50 is on its way! :D ) but I'll say this: If I manage to take pictures like that after a couple of months I'll be delighted with myself! :)

The first two are really nice, especially the second one. The first one was a great idea! Using the "whole in the wall" as some kind of frame was a really good idea but perhaps this frame was given too much importance... I wonder what the picture would have looked like if you had stood closer to that "whole in the wall"...

The fouth picture is nice also. Were you in a moving vehicle when you took it? The blurring gives a great impression of movement but it's a pity there isn't much that "isn't blurry" (don't know the opposite of the word "blurry"... Sharp?).

    Loved the fifth!

And the best for one for last. Definitely my favourite! Great colour, lighting and very very well taken in my opinion! :D

All-in-all, very nice pictures and yes, I am a little jealous... :p

One and five are very good, the rest are a bit pedestrian. However, one and five ARE good, so put them aside and keep shooting :)

    not bad daithi666

The first one is very good. Great idea on the framing. I personally would have tried to get the wall completely black as I find the detail distracting. You could still get this in an image editor simply by upping the contrast.

The second one has potential, I think you did a good job getting the foreground in the shot to give a sense of depth and perspective, but think you included too much of it. I also think you should have left the pillar out of the shot. Unless it's an important part of your shot, overlapping very strong vertical and horiztal should be avoided. I would simply crop out the pillar and some of the foreground.

Third one has some interesting features, but is a very complicated shot without any real sense of subject. No recommendation to fix this, but bear in mind when shooting you should try and have a clear subject(s). In this case the (my) eye is bouncing all over the photo.

Quite like the fourth one. Not sure what your thoughts where at the time, but maybe you could have panned a bit with the joggers to try and keep them a bit more in focus, a faster shutter speed could help with this as well.

Five again is a great attempt, but the framing lets it down - the bits of the other window at the bottom should be cropped out.

    Six.....no comment really,,,,,err, all the above. :)

    Seven, nice, simple, works.

Hope you don't mind the critique, tried to keep it as helpful as possible. Keep it up.

Thanks for the comments. I don't have any experience so any hints would be valuable.

Maybe just to let you know what they are:

The first shot is from a shelter towards South Dublin on Bull Island.

The second is again from Bull Island but at the very tip where there is a religious monument with a compass at the plinth.

The third is from Kilkenny. St. Cannice's Cathedral and round tower.

The fourth is of the Castlecomer Welly race that takes place every New Year's day. Well worth visiting!

The fifth is of the Reina Sofia roof in Madrid.

The sixth is of a walkway from the elevators to the museum of the Reina Sofia. In the backround is Atocha (the station that got bombed on the 11th of March).

And the last speaks for itself.

The first is a great idea, but i would have gotten less of the window. maybe moving closer like steffano said.
The second one is my favourite. I like the scary looking clouds and the composition is very good.

not much to say about the others, but the last one is very good. you got the colours really well.

#1 is really good - using the window to frame the subject is a great photo technique - but you need to get the horizon straight if you have a photo with water in it.
(You can nudge it a bit in photoshop but even that doesn't work if it is too far off level because the reflections will look wrong.)

However you have a good eye for a photograph so I look forward to seeing more of your work

The welly race was my favourite - if you are lucky enough to have an interesting subject then go for it. That one immediately grabs attention cos you're immediately asking what the hell is this about! Liked the last one also, well done.
