There's loads of 6 for €7s floating around
    Pratzky
    Bavaria
    Amsterdam etc etc

Tesco do a beer called Bier d'Or and you get 24 bottles (250ml) for about €8 i think, haven't tried it though

Bier d'Or's quite nice actually, but the king of cheap supermarket beer is the Lidl beer. So good, and so cheap.

Fully endorsed! At 89c a can ya can't go wrong (€3.55 for 4 cans, 4.3% I think - not arsed going upstairs to my stash to double check).

I'll get a bit of flack for this, but Dunnes beer, at 89c a can too (4.1%... I think) has become my tipple of late, replacing the Lidl beer. Dunnes beer actually goes down a bit easier, and you've nothing like the hangover the next day, compared with Lidl beer. It's actually pretty damn nice.

If you're not quite as poor as me (being a student and all that), you may be able to afford a little better, in which case I highly recommend Rolling Rock. €20 for 20 330cl bottles (It's about 4.1% too) even in the expensive garage/convenience stores is a lovely beer. As far as I remember it's €18 for 20 bottles in Dunnes. I know people slate American beers, and I'm slightly biased having lived on the stuff over there, but it's feckin' lovely.

Anyone else got any cheap beer tips? Also, what are your experiences with hangovers drinking these cheap brews - which is best/worst in your opinion?

Rolling rock is very bland but pretty quaffable on a hot day. Ciders are terrible for hangovers no matter what the price. Even unfermented apple juice contains lots of natural methanol, when fermented the pectins also turn to methanol. The usual higher % means you are more dehydrated too.
I get no hangover from blue bavaria and the Reinheitsgebot beers like grolsch and warsteiner

Anyone ever try 'Finkbrau' from LIDL? It's quite nice but each bottle only has about a mouthfull in it. Quite cheap as well.

They are the best bottles, 250ml "throwbacks", never goes dead since it never lasts that long.

Finkbrau is good stuff alright. Pretty cheap too.

Big Fan of Bier d'Or, great work, as previously stated that size bottle never goes flat, but on the other hand you do need to keep going to the fridge!!

I used to like it until stella started to sell their stubbies so cheaply then it occured to me that it actually tastes like battery acid.
