I'm having a problem with firefox ever since I got it. I can't go to any page whose address begins with https://, meaning I can't shop online.
I'm behind a firewall in college, but I've set the firewall settings in firefox.

It works fine on internet explorer. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Anything to do with security settings? Have a look at:

Tools - Options - Advanced Tab

Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 are ticked by default in my firefox and 'Select one automatically' under Certificates. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. They're all ticked.
Does anyone know if it could be anything else? I can't go back to IE.

What version are you using? How about backing up your bookmarks (can be found in Documents and Settings/Your Name/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/something.default/bookmarks.html). Of course, you'll have to tick the show hidden files option in windows explorer - tools - folder options - view tab to be able to see the Application Data folder. Then, do an uninstall of firefox and reinstall latest version. You might want to also make a note of any extensions and also delete the Mozilla Firefox folder in Program Files. Phew, far too much concentration for this time of day!

HTTPS goes out on a different port. Have you tried adding the port to the url and see if that works?

Ok, thanks for the help. I noticed the problem. I hadn't selected "use this proxy for all protocals".
    Thanks for the help.
