How does VGA only mean it no good as a combined TV and PC monitor?

Am seriously thinking of getting one. Can't find much about them on the net. Anyone got a spec on them, or an opinion? As said above, looks like a good price for what u are getting.

The postage on that item from Brighton in the UK to Ireland is €73.
If you live in the UK it's €30 plus the bidding price, but who's going to pay €73 just for postage outside of England?

    Therein lies the swizz.

I'm also very interested in this Aldi TV - the contrast and brightness look good, but it doesn't mention the response time... does that tend to be an issue nowadays?

I'd most certainly be using it to play my PS2 on, but if I have to make a cup of tea while waiting for my actions to have consequences on screen I'd be bringing it back to the shop...

Anyone know where to find this info?

What res is this? VGA doesn't make sense.

This TV doesn't have a HDMI interface so it won't play High Def TV or accept a High Def picture from a PC/DVD/PS3/etc. So next year or so you will be sorry you bought it.
If you are buying an LCD TV imho it should be HD ready
    Resolution isn't great either
I like Aldi and Lidl, like their stuff, but don't think this is really a bargain

If its VGA even pal will look woeful.

I presume VGA is referring to the input i.e. a standard VGA input from a PC. I would be amazed if the screen resoluton can't handle anything higher than VGA. And jus tbecause it doesn't have a HDMI interface doesn't mean it isn't a good buy as a TV, it's going to be a couple of years yet before HDTV is commonplace.

oh yeah sure, DTT here is ready to roll out  and SKY and NTL are all geared up to handle the extra bandwidth per channel on their existing infrastructure  and DVD's (and VHS too) will magically interpolate the extra lines...

Just how many true HDTV cameras are in use each day in this country, I'd guess I could count the hours of broadcast TV produced on my thumbs. /RANT

Unless this has a wonderful resolution I'll just save up for some black cardboard to put on my TV for when we go widescreen (why do RTE show an guy who is wider than normal in their ads - I can't tell when he looks OK ! )

The company that produces RTE's sports coverage is Full HD ready, they're OB was upgraded last year as where allot of their cameras and they can produce HDTV right now if they wanted. No idea about RTE themselves tho..

Sure I work on and off as a camera opp at the races(horse) and the HRI recently just agreed to change from 4:3 to 16:9... It took over a year of negotiations to get them to change..... This country is flying ahead in terms of changing technology
