Im buying a new PC and I think I might go for one with these specs:

    Pentium 4 650 3.4GHz
    360GB Hard drive
    2048MB RAM
    ATI Radeon X600 Graphics

Ill be using it for games, internet etc just wondering what people thought and if the specs need to be changed a bit

The X600 should be changed, maybe to an nVidia 7800gt and try an AMD processor.

Why how bad is the x600 and what so great about an amd compared to a P4

The P4 is fine. You will notice zero difference in games as long as you beef up that card. AMD are better generally all around but in practical game playing and some other tasks, the real differences are not noticable. Apart from that, it looks like a pre-built pc (dell or somewhat), in which case amd wouldn't be an option anyway. That card definately needs changing though. With the rest of the spec as good as it is, you should at least go for an x800gto or even a 7800

That graphics card is a serious let down compared to the otherwise decent components
