It actually looks pretty good! Lets hope its half as scary as the Silent Hill games..which scared me more than any other game or movie. They are terrifying!

Yeah, the games are mental, scary as hell.

I remember playing the first one on a surround sound, and for about 10 mins i could here this scraping behind me, didn't know what the hell it was. Eventually got to go back and find out and it was a zombie with no legs, clawing along after me.

I was sceptical until I saw a trailer, but I think it looks promising enough. Hopefully it'll buck the trend of crap video game adaption movies.

Looks pretty decent and seems to stick pretty close to the original plot too, which is good. I just hope they manage to capture the feeling of absolute insanity evoked by the 'other' world.

I think this may finally be a good game to movie conversion. Once they get the atmosphere right, it should be reasonably good.

Hopefully better than Doom. Finally saw it last night. Bloody woeful.

The trailer looks pretty good and the plot seems to be very similiar to the game. I just dont want to get my hopes up considering I am yet to see a decent computer game adaptation. The trailer certainly looks dark and eerie and the effects look good so hopefully this can be the first decent adaptation.

Trailer makes me want to see more, hope I`am not let down but certainly looks good with a few scares thrown in and a good cast.

The orginal game scared the **** outta me!! but I agree film conversions of games don't appeall to me, will check the trailer though

i probably shudnt get my hopes....but,the trailer did look pretty damn good... the small bit of the other world u saw looked exactly like in the game.... im gonna have to go see this it looks sweet!

also i hope they have that nurse in it again(the one that bled rpofusily all over u for no apparent reason)!

I only hope that the movie has the same scary effects as the games. I was playing the game the other night with the lights off and the volume turned up on headphones and managed to successfully scare the s**t out of myself...

I liked the psychological horror of Silent Hill 1 & 2, I thought the story of Silent Hill 2 was really moving and sad, 1 was good but I thought it was less well fleshed out than 2 and seemed to be more reliant on the 'Scary town full of monsters' dynamic than anything else. I thought the backstory that was hinted at throughout SH2, the Native American subplot, the Salem witch trials-esque references were great and I hope this translates into the movie (even though the story of the film and the games are different)...

How can pyramid head be in this film when he/it is a representation of James's sexual frustration/aggression towards his ill wife when James isn't even in the film let alone part of the story of this particular Silent Hill story?, is the reason what I fear and Pyramid head is in it because he 'looks scary'?... I hope that's not the case, I thought the strongest aspects of the monsters in SH was the fact there was a relevance to each of them in relation to the main character..

Aw don't be like that. My comment was meant as tongue-in-cheek. That's why I put the big cheesy smiley there. I think it's impressive (in a really, really nerdy way) that people have taken the time to ponder the meaning of Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2. Me? I just thought he was a big, scary, unstoppable guy.

To be fair its a fairly impossible task to re-create the athmosphere and tangible terror one experiences whilst playing silent hill. Your so attached to every element of the game any of the gamers wont enjoy being so detatched from the action in the cinema......A hollywood take on it is not a tempting prospect, the trailer looks the biz but it may just be all the sweet bits. In my top 5 of best games i've ever played, very few games make want to finish just to see the story out!

Quite looking forward to the Devil May Cry flick

SH2 stands as being one of my favourite game still today. Crazy scarey! I really hope this is going to be good though, I'm a huge <not literally> fan of the series.

Did anyone else get a shock when they opened the link up there? The girl with no mouth freaks me out... :eek:
