hey chaps, just looking for some cajolling/advice really.

I've just finished building my lovely new house in the country, totally chuffed with it, thing is I'm not paid too well in my current job (relatively) and have no "Kudos" at work (due to my mind being elsewhere during the build) to ask for a payrise. We're overdrawn on the overdraft every month, no sign of the boss offering more $$ even tho heavy hints been dropped (is an easy number, not 15 minutes from home),things I'm doing to rememdy the problem:

I'm in the process of remortgaging to clear a loan we needed to finish the build (lots of digging out and drainange -unexpected)

    Changing banks to TSB

Even with both of these initiatives we'll only just break even again, We have 3 kids (youngest is 2) my issue is, do I go away for most of the week and earn the money to fix the finances or continue to live on the breadline being miserable most weeks as we've no $$$ to do anything with ??

    Advice or suggestions welcome...

    Cheers

    FBP.

Gas - Same situation as myself, except I don't have the kiddies, the contracts are in Dublin from all I can see which is not a commute which is possible - 4hr drive each way so like u I would have to live up there.

I after much thinking have decided that it is not worth it. Maybe if someit came up with 2hr drive I might go for it but life is short enough without spending it in a car or away from family

    best of luck

If you go on contract and are doing a long commute you will eventually wear yourself out. If moneys tight and you get sick you are screwed. Also you'll be a long way from the building work.
