Makes for some interesting reading, the difference in the purses is pretty crazy. The difference between the money for Cruz and Mir is crazy. I wonder if Cruz can ask for that much now?

The Nevada State Athletic Commission made the UFC 57 numbers public the numbers showed that the UFC 57 card was the biggest gate in UFC history with just over a $3.3 million dollar gate.

Well, Mir is a former champion, dethrowned at the time only by an accident. He had some hype going into his fight as his return match - That's why. Pe De Pano is only known in the grappling community and wasn't a selling point for the UFC as much as Mir. That's why - It's just business.

I'm not saying the Mir's payment wasn't justified, just wondering how much Pe de Pano rating has gone up with the victory over Mir.

I thought they'd get paid more than that, especially the fellas on the undercard. I wonder if they make much money from sponsorship etc, apart from Chuck, hes loaded now apparently.
Are these fellas full time pros?

Most of them do other jobs, things like personnal training and MMA instruction. ( Luke Cummo, Stephan Bonnar, Pat Militech still teaches all his classes )

A lot of them also work for their training camps doing different jobs, Chris Leben runs Team Quest day to day now.

Only the top names really get some decent sponsorship but it's starting to spread out a bit more now, Jorge Curdgel got a deal with Gamma-O for example. But the top guys obviously get the better deals with companies like Chuck and Xyience and Arlovksie and Gamma-O

All in all, for most of the guys there is more money to be made outside the Octagon than in it. Fighting in the UFC however does make them a name, and a few wins can look good when your advertising yourself as a trainer.

    Gurgel* ;)

And, this is normal pay. 2k fight, 2k win is standard for interim fights. Anything more paid is for people who have won before. Seems like they have a pay scale for everyone depending on their fights fought in the UFC, how many wins and how many losses.

From what I gather, its 2k fight, 2k win for first fight - 4k fight, 4k win for second fight. After that it's depending on the fighters pull or whatever.
