    Right,

I am going to my friends tomorrow.
He has a 360 but doesn't have Xbox Live, He got Premium Edition with Hdd etc etc.
I have LIVE. So, i can play halo2 on 360. He can't. If i bring my hard-drive to his house and plug it in. Will we be able to play halo2 on his 360?

you could burn the update to a CD which is one of the ways that microsoft reccomend. You can find out about it here, check out the link in the answer to question 2: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilityfaq.htm
    good luck

h2 works with or without hdd, and live, but just bring your hdd, and a copy of halo2 and you'll be grand. ;)

    It didn't work after.
It said something about the region. :S

Strange, oh well. He still uses his Xbox more than his 360 anyway, A little game called Madden 06, He's an addict

It would have been a good bit of hassle to bring the whole 360.

It said the console isn't in the same region as the game or something like that.

    It was strange.

Halo 2 doesnt work, even with the HDD!

I had the unfortunate experience of bringing my HDD to my cousins (doesnt have Bband) and trying to play Halo 2, not a hope (even with my updated HDD!) I think the update may go into the 360 itself (maybe to do with serial number?) Same thing happened with Pro Evo 5

You definitely need the HD for backwards compatibility even Halo2, that's according to MS.

The region error seems to be a common fault, details on the update here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/2006/0130-autoupdate.htm
This may not fix the error but it should give you a better idea of what's going wrong.

You might want to talk to microsoft

I think you took me up wrong, my cousin already had the HD, I just brought mine out that had the live updates for PES5 + Halo 2 out to his house and put it in his 360 and my hd didnt play the updated xbox1 games! Its was a bit of a pooper, he is getting broadband today so he'll be fine (I hope!)

UPDATE : Turns out my cousins SH copy of Halo 2 was scratched, after checking + the disc looked fine, I tried it in my Xbox and it didnt work, then tried my copy, no problems at all!
