    Shouldn't be a problem, hardware used for video encoding, it's not a gaming machine, just a PVR.

    IT seems to be a dumbed down version of their usual multimedia PC

    I have one of ALDI's PCs from a year ago. The TV tuner is ok but and software that comes with it is crap. The TV, whether live or recorded, is not the best quality wise - and you can't fine tune the signals. Still as a multimedia PC it is pretty good.

    Don't know about their current offering - might be lacking the memory, drive space (one movie recorded off the TV takes up about 10 GB at high quality setting) compared to the older verison. But it is a pretty good price...

    This could be a good MythTV box if you wanted more control over what was going on. http://www.mythtv.org/ not sure if the remote woudl work with mythTV though!
