Hi, I'm heading to London next week, flying in to Stanstead. I'd like to stay around the Portobello Rd / Notting Hill area so wonder if anybody has any suggestions of where would be good and cheap to stay and whether it would make sense at all staying in this area from a Stansted point of view?

Well it's on the opposite side of the city from Liverpool St (where the Stansted Express terminates) - it depends on your definition of "sense"
