Following a scan of Paul O’Connell’s shoulder yesterday, the injury has been confirmed as a shoulder A/C joint strain. O'Connell picked up the injury in the game against France but played through the pain barrier as he helped to inspire Ireland's second half fight back. He was eventually substituted for Donncha O'Callaghan.
The injury will require rehabilitation over the next week, at which point a further assessment of the injury will be made. The level of strain to O’Connell’s shoulder makes him a doubt for the Wales game in a fortnight’s time.

TBH I would be happy if POC didn't play any more matches for Ireland this year.
EOS allowing him to stay on the field was stupid and could seriously damage his chances of recovery, POC doesn't seem to be a great healer and this could affect Munsters chance in the HEC, which in my mind is more important than this mickey mouse 6N's

Yeah i can see where your coming from. I would see Poc a big loss for Ireland for the wales match though.Sayin that Doc is a good replacement for him though.

He'll be a big loss, but at least we have a good replacement for him in O'Callaghan.

TBH I would really prefer if none of the Munster players played anymore of this 6n , it is very risky with Munster needing all it's talent for the HEC.
put MOK in by all means he is only Leinster ;)

Despite having an encouraging period of rehabilitation last week, Paul O’Connell’s shoulder has reacted to the next level of training and has not progressed sufficiently. As a result, O’Connell has been ruled out of consideration for the Wales game this weekend.

Ireland Team Doctor Gary O’Driscoll said, “Based on Paul’s reaction in training today, we repeated the scan which revealed that the shoulder has not healed to the extent we had anticipated. Paul will continue with his rehabilitation and we are confident that he will be available for the Scotland game”.

Meanwhile, Saracens hooker Shane Byrne has been added to the Ireland squad as precautionary cover for Jerry Flannery who suffered an ankle strain in training. A decision on Flannery’s availability will be made later in the week.

He will be missed, but I'm sure DOC will earn his start.

No idea what happened to Thomas. Heard on the radio yesterday that he was hospitalised because of severe migranes.

something about a nerve in his neck which caused the migranes

Apparently he's damaged an artery in his neck and will probably be out for up to 12 weeks.

The stress of ousting Ruddock was too much, he reportedly hadn't slept for 5 days straight before collapsing.
The whole situation was very similar to the way Gatland was shafted by EOS, Keith Wood and the IRFU.
