Hi guys just need some advice on the best approach to hooking up my iRiver 340 to a Nissan Almera standard in built stereo. I'm currently use a tape adapter which is alright for now as the quality isnt the best. I've done some browsing of this forum and found that the AUX INPUT is the way to go.

With this in mind i've taken out the standard stereo that comes with the almera to have a look at the connectors. I've since found a free connector that would normally be used for the CD player. Am i thus right in saying that this can be used for AUX output. If so,can someone please tell how i can go about getting a cable that will connect into the back of the stereo with a lead that goes into the output jack on the mp3 player. I've been into maplins in town but the guy behind the counter must have been sniffin aerosols the night before as he hadn't a clue what i was talking about..

I've also googled this till im red in the face..no joy at all!!!!

I found a similar thread where a guy got the cable i'm talking about for his blaupunkt stereo. Am i also right in saying that this cable can only be used for blaupunkt stereos and not a fit all type cable??

Would be very grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction!!
    Thanks
    Duffler..

are you talking about an input that has a connector with many pins on it?

I have myself a sony radio that has 2 rca phono inputs used for a dvd audio source, is there anything like that on the rear of the head unit?

If so, all you would need is a 3.5mm jack to 2 phono adaptors, usually red and white.

Thanks for the prompt reply sparky!Yeah the connector does have pins..
You'll have to bear with me as i'm a bit of newbie but will this cable connect to existing connector i talk of??What do i do with the "2 phono adaptors"?
Do i get anoother normal line out cable and connect to one of the phono adaptors?

    Cheers

    Hi Duffler,
In the hope that you'll actually read this... did you ever manage to connect a jack to the CY450 in your Almera? I'm in the same position now; need to know that there's a point pulling the stereo out before I start doing it!

    Cheers.
