What's My Line?

Early stages of live event, blinds 50/100. I doubled through early and have t10000. UTG has t2700 or so, button has t13000.

UTG (no reads) makes it 300, folded to me in MP and I raise to 900 with JJ. Button (recently moved to the table, but a thinking, decent, aggressive player) dwells for about a minute and a half and calls. Blinds fold, and UTG calls quickly.

Flop comes Jh 4s 4h. UTG checks.

    What's your preferred line?

Also if UTG had pushed, what's your line?

    Bet 1000 on the flop

With him with only 1800 left id be inclined to push, make it seem like ur trying to buy the pot. Anything less then that to me seems to scream that you want a call,

If he had pushed pre flop i think either calling or folding you have been ok. Calling with JJ for 25% of your stack would imo be ok, folding to a tight (ish) player also a fine play. Its really whatever read you get at the time.

Aren't you more interested in getting money from the tall stack? If you push he could fold Aces. The shorty might only have AQ.

I have minor interest in the shorty. I want to stack the button.

I actually meant what if the UTG had pushed post-flop. Pre-flop I'm folding JJ to a bet, a raise, a smooth call, and an all-in re-raise with a cold caller behind nearly 90% of the time.

    Bet 1000 seems good.

If UTG pushes in front of you, then think for a minute, look over at big stack, think again, ask how much it is, look over at big stack and call.

1/3 of the pot is perfect here, as it's pricing the button in. All-in is a crazy move as it could scare off action from both players. You want value bets on all 3 streets now to milk the button for as much of his big stack as possible.

Yup, misread and thought the button had folded pre flop.

With him left in it, 1000 or 1500 is grand, looks like maybe AJ, QQ+ or maybe even 10,10 9,9 betting to know where you stand.
